Regular eye exams are an important part of staying happy and healthy. As you age, your eyes change, becoming more vulnerable to disease and sight-impacting conditions. By getting an eye exam every one or two years, you’re taking a proactive step towards good eye health.

Our optometrist, Dr Kashiani administers eye exams every Tuesday from 5 PM to 7 PM and every second Saturday from 11:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Contact us today to set up your eye exam, or come see us and browse our awesome selection of eyewear.
Dr Kashiana is specially trained to recognise the traits of healthy and unhealthy eyes. When you come in for an eye exam, we’ll test your acuity, peripheral vision, eye teaming, and prescription level.
We’ll also thoroughly screen your eyes for any indication of disease. Many eye diseases and conditions start without any noticeable symptoms, meaning an eye exam is the best way to catch them before they become a serious issue.
Glaucoma is often referred to as the silent thief of sight for the way it slowly damages vision without giving any indication to the victim. The vision loss caused by glaucoma cannot be reversed. It can, however, be slowed down or delayed if the disease is caught early enough. Glaucoma affects the intraocular eye pressure, so we measure this in every exam by blowing a quick puff of air into each eye. This test is called non-contact tonometry.
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (or AMD) is an eye disease commonly found in seniors. There are two forms of AMD; wet form and dry form. Both wet and dry AMD cause damage to the macula; the part of your retina responsible for your central vision. If this damage gets too severe, it can completely wipe out your central vision. An eye exam gives the optometrist the opportunity to look for and treat the early stages of AMD.
Eyes of different ages have different needs. We’re happy to offer eye exams to everyone; from young children to seniors. And with over 255 pairs of spectacle frames and 275 pairs of sunglasses, there really is something for everyone at Envy Eyewear Boutique.
Cataracts are a very common eye condition among patients over 50. As we age, the fluid in our eyes starts to rearrange, depositing protein on the lens and clouding our vision. For a while, the effects of cataracts can be mitigated with strong prescription lenses. However, when they become too severe, they should be surgically removed. An eye exam helps you decide if you just need a stronger prescription, or if it’s time to opt for surgery.
